Army Air Corps
Army Air Corps - Eagle
The Army Air Corps was formed in 1957. However the Army's involvement with flight goes back over one hundred years when its involvement officially in flying began in 1878.
This involved the first gas filled man carrying tethered observation balloons, that were purchased by the war office.
The modern ACC celebrated its Golden Jubilee in 2007, and since its formation in 1957 has been involved in every theatre of operations up to the present day.
