Parachute Regiment Badge 2:3
Parachute Regiment Badge - Pegasus
Lieutenant-General 'Boy' Browning appointed as Commander of the 1st Airborne Division in October 1941, assigned the artist Major Edward Seago in the summer of 1942 to design an emblem for the Airborne forces.
The result of his labours was the famous insignia, taken from the Ancient Greek myth, of the warrior Bellerophon riding Pegasus the Winged horse. The insignia in maroon with Pegasus in blue was worn on the shoulder of each arm.
